We Made It . . . At least to KC!

Monday afternoon and we are sitting patiently at Panera waiting for our Pathfinder to be fixed. Yes, Timmy has car problems again and I guess some things never change! It's been one week since we left Alabama for the trek out of the south and into the mid-west. And it's been almost 6 years since we lived in the Kansas City area before. Honestly, I don't think we ever really thought we would end up back in the KC area . . . and I don't think we ever really wanted too, but here we are and going full-throttle like always.

We packed up the 24 footer Budget Truck along with a tow for our Pathfinder and we headed out to KC from Daphne, AL after a tremendous lunch and wonderful sending service by our home church, Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene. We already miss the familiar but have a great sense of peace about the move. It seems to us, that most often people find themselves moving into a nicer, bigger, and possibly more "suited" home after 6 years of marriage and an eight month old baby. We however, like to work opposite. Ever since we have been married we have never had our "own" house, but we have tried to make every house and/or apartment that we have lived in "home". And much like the past we are doing our best to do the same in the temporary housing that is being provided for us while we go through some additional missionary training.

The trek out west was not all that bad, we even got to stop off at another Lambert's Cafe'. If you ever get the chance to go to the home of "throwed rolls", do so! Here's a little link you can check out: http://www.throwedrolls.com/

We unloaded our truck on Wednesday and quickly took advantage of the help that was available. Even though we had two extremely GREAT moving sales, we still had a few items that we just could not sell, and given the fact that we currently do not have a future destination we kept a bit of our furniture and home accessories too. Long story short, we moved into a fully furnished home with even more furnishings! So, we have our dresser in the living room, our bookshelf in the dinning area and a whole bunch of stuff in the basement! It's a really good thing that ever single box is labeled with exactly what is in the box and of course organized into categories as well as sub-categories. . . Ok, well not exactly, but each box does have a specific label and guess who came up with that extraordinary idea?! In all truthfulness if it were not for the labels we would still be digging through stuff to unpack but instead we are fully moved in, and if we need anything we know exactly where to find it! Honestly, I think the rest of the missionary interns are covetous-- they better get over that "ten commandment"! :-)

Well, we do hope to get a lot of our homework done this week, but if there is anyone out there looking for some missionary speakers, we are willing and able- and most of the time available. You can always contact us via our blog site email link! And until our next blog you might be able to catch us either at another local Panera, Starbucks, or wi-fi hot spot! Until next time, there are a few items of continued prayer:
- Booking Deputation Services
- Continued adjustment for Natalie and our entire transition
- School and missionary training work loads
- Future destination after the new year . . . still undetermined . . .
- Money in order to fix our A/C compressor in our Pathfinder - It's hot in KC!

But for now . . . It's "Nap Time!"

Welcome back to the Midwest. Yes it is HOT here but it has been hotter. We are looking forward to you spending the weekend in October with us. It will be fun. Until then, we will make it up to KC to see you three and catch up a bit. Good luck on the adjustment and training. God bless.
